The Fhenix wallet module is an interface for viewing and managing confidential tokens inside an application. Read this page to understand what the wallet shows, what it keeps private, and which guide to open next.
The wallet module works on Ethereum mainnet and Arbitrum. Screenshots in this guide contain example values and placeholders. Use the addresses, assets, fees, and status shown in your own session.

Why this wallet exists

Confidential tokens keep balance information encrypted onchain. Your connected wallet can sign transactions, but a standard balance display may not show those encrypted holdings. The wallet module gives you a dedicated interface to view and manage supported confidential assets inside the application.

Where to find the wallet

The Fhenix wallet is a web-based interface for managing confidential assets. It wraps an existing wallet with the tools needed to view and manage those assets, so you can use it without replacing the wallet you already use. The wallet currently lives inside the Genesis app. Open Genesis and connect an existing wallet, such as MetaMask, another Web3 wallet, or a Ledger hardware wallet. Once connected, use the wallet panel to view balances, shield and unshield tokens, and send supported assets. Over time, the wallet will also be available in other Fhenix apps.

How it works

Connect your wallet, then sign a viewing permit when the wallet module asks. The module uses that authorization to retrieve and display your permitted private information. Your connected wallet remains the signer for token transactions. Viewing a private balance does not publish that balance onchain.

What you can do

  • Review your portfolio.
  • Inspect public, private, and pending balances.
  • Shield tokens, and unshield and claim them.
  • Send tokens.
  • Inspect recorded activity.
  • Manage permits, shared views, and token allowances.

What confidentiality means

Private balances and private transfer amounts are encrypted. Wallet addresses and public blockchain metadata remain visible. Public balances and public transfer amounts are visible onchain. Shielding or unshielding crosses the public/private boundary and can expose the converted amount.

Two token types

The wallet supports two kinds of confidential token. Read both token names and contract addresses before you convert or send.
  • DUAL tokens hold a public balance and a private balance in one token contract. See dual-mode tokens.
  • FHERC20 tokens provide a confidential counterpart to a public asset. See FHERC20 tokens.

Three kinds of authorization

The wallet asks you to authorize three different things. They serve different purposes, and renewing one does not repair the others.
